Education

  • Michael Goldrick holds an honours Degree in Psychology and a PhD in Education from Dublin City University. As part of his PhD, Michael created one of the first blended support services in Irish higher education which significantly increased academic performance and reduced isolation amongst distance learners. 

Academic Experience

  • Michael joined NCI in 2009, before then he was employed as a Part-time lecturer in DCU's School of Education Studies. 

Research Interests

  • Inclusive education; experiential learning; collaborative learning; 21st century skills development; learning technologies.

  • Title of Project: Supporting Education for all with Inclusion Technology (2015 - 2017). Funding Body: ERASMUS+, Leargas. Grant Award: €265,415. Role: Learning Technology Consultant. 
  • Title of Project: SMART Course: Alternative Media Production (2013-2015). Funding Body: Leonardo Da Vinci Programme, Leargas. Grant Award: €119,500. Role: Irish Lead Researcher. 
  • Title of Project: Rotobraille in Education (2011 - 2013). Funding Body: Leonardo Da Vinci Programme, Leargas. Grant Award: €117,500. Role: Irish Lead Researcher. 
  • Title of Project: Addressing Homophobic Bullying in Second-Level Schools (2007-2008). Funding Body: The Equality Authority. Role: Researcher
