Assistant Professor/Lecturer in Education 

This is an academic position within the Education team, as part of the Social Sciences. The post holder will have two main areas of responsibility: i) provide academic leadership to support the delivery and development of our education professional development programmes for the Further Education and Training (FET) sector ii) provide academic leadership to support the delivery and development of the Certificate in Educational Practice for PTECH and academic activities related to the PTECH programme (e.g. curriculum review). The post-holder may also act as Programme Director for programmes within the education suite, as necessary.

NCI Child Safeguarding Officer 

The Safeguarding Officer for the National College of Ireland is responsible for ensuring that robust, responsive, and prevention‑focused safeguarding practices are embedded across all NCI departments working with children and vulnerable adults, in particular the Early Learning Initiative.  The postholder provides expert advice and support on child and adult safeguarding, leads on policy development and review, coordinates safeguarding training for staff and volunteers, and guides the College’s response to safeguarding concerns arising within NCI.

Social Sciences Placement Coordinator

This role is central to ensuring high-quality, well-managed placement experiences that align with the needs of the programme learning outcomes, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder expectations. The post-holder will work closely with the Programme Directors, Academic Placement Leads and academic staff who are responsible for the academic and quality assurance elements of the placements. They will also work with students and external placement providers.
