Talking Heads Programme

Talking Heads is a programme that aims to provide English as an Additional Language (EAL) learners in both primary and secondary school between the ages of 10-18 a safe and fun space in which to practice their conversational English.

Sessions

Sessions last for 1 hour and are facilitated by trained volunteers, facilitators and supervised by ELI staff. Students focus on speaking about different topics each week with volunteers (e.g. The weekend, Holidays, the environment) in order to improve their linguistic self-confidence. The programme includes trips and excursions where students can practice their English in real-world settings. 

Location:  O’Connell’s secondary school, Richmond St North, Dublin 1 D01 Y4A9, National College of Ireland, IFSC & NEIC Primary Schools.

Days/Times: Mondays & Tuesdays from 3.40-4.40pm (O'Connells's school site)

The programme is open to all students attending a school or living in the NEIC.
