The Governing Body constitutes the Board of Directors at National College of Ireland and is responsible for the overall management and direction of the College and its compliance with company law. They are also the the Trustees of the Charity. The Governing Body establishes and monitors the College’s strategic direction and policy, its financial planning, and compliance with best practice in all college activities.

Governing Body elects its own Chair from amongst its own members. The President of the College is ex officio a member of the Governing Body.

The following members have been nominated by: IBEC, ICTU, and The Jesuit Community, or have been appointed by the NCI Nominations Committee.

The following members have been elected by staff members and consist of one academic and one non-academic representative.

The NCI Students’ Union President represents the students of the College at Governing Body.
