Purpose of Position:

Coordinate the Parenting 365 Programme

Reporting to:              

  • Assistant Director- Early Learning Initiative and Senior Programme Coordinator

  • Home Visitors/Group Facilitators 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate the Parenting 365 Programme and assist with the ongoing development of the programme.
  • Facilitate weekly play sessions on Saturdays
  • To assist in the recruitment, hiring and training of Parenting 365 staff. 
  • To plan and assist with ongoing staff training. 
  • Provide administrative support to the RP Parenting Coordinator/Parenting programme Facilitator.  
  • To supervise and support Parenting 365 Play Facilitators.
  • To facilitate staff meetings, performance reviews and training when required. 
  • Liaise with professionals from a variety of services such as primary care and CDNT Team. 
  • Arrange room bookings and risk assessments for 365 venues. 
  • To assist with the management of the Parenting 365 programme budget and accounts. 
  • To assist in the development of the programme manual. 
  • To process stock orders, complete procurement and arrange for safe storage of programme equipment.
  • To process referrals and assist with the onboarding of programme families. 
  • To organise, plan and post on ELI’s social media platforms.
  • Prepare and maintain records, reports and data on the programme families
  • Participate in research activities. 
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Senior Coordinator, ELI Director or Assistant Director.  

Skills and Experience Required: 

  • Relevant 3rd level qualification
  • Relevant experience of working with children and families affected by developmental delay or additional needs.
  • Ability to work with marginalised families and have an understanding of the issues of marginalisation
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills 
  • Excellent IT skills in Ms Excel Ms Word and other relevant research packages etc.
  • Professional interest in early years education, family-based learning and early intervention.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of College personnel, statutory, community and corporate stakeholders and other outside individuals/organisations
  • Flexible approach to work as weekend/evening work will be required
  • Ability to operate as a team player in a cross disciplinary, integrated team, sharing roles and responsibilities
  • An energetic, confident and pro-active individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good time management skills with the ability to produce results and targets in line with deadlines. 

Employment Conditions:

Contract: 

 9-month Fixed Term Contract with the possibility of renewal depending on funding

Salary: 

€30,450 - €42,632 pro rata (Administrator Salary Band) 

Hours: 

20 hours per week including working 6 Saturdays per term.

Annual Leave: 

24 days per annum (pro rata)

Shortlisting

HR draft up the shortlisting documents and provide the initial screening to determine if a person meets the essential criteria of the competition. A shortlisting panel is generally made up of two senior grade staff members from the relevant department for which the role is being recruited.

Sharing of your data

Where you have been successfully shortlisted for a post, each interview panel member will be furnished with a copy of the relevant information of those who will be attending interview in order that they can review applications in advance of the interview process. All such information will be returned to NCI and shredded following the competition process. Some of the interview panel will be external interviewers, who are not employees of NCI but are engaged for the purpose and are strictly subject to the rules and policies of the College.
