Course Description

Operations management relates to the scoping, planning, directing & controlling of the facilities, processes & people required to transform resources into effective, efficient products & services. Employees of the Department of Social Protection with an Operations Management remit to their role will learn critical analytics & decision support techniques tailored to DSP to facilitate administration, increase efficiency & effectiveness in problem solving environments, thus equipping students with key OM awareness & skills. 

This programme takes a multidisciplinary approach to operational management challenges; applicability & limits. It draws upon the theory & practice to enable graduates to become confident & competent in the field. 

The learning & teaching strategy is designed to encourage a reflective approach to learning with an emphasis on flipped classroom, collaborative learning using real-world DSP operations management examples & in-class problem solving.

Course Content

This Programme will enable participants to recognise the contribution that operations management plays as part of a successful organisation and critically review the key issues facing operations managers with the Department of Social Protection.
