During the first week of December 2024, over 100 staff, current students, alumni, employers, and external NCI partners came together in the College to meet with an international Quality Review Team. Appointed by QQI, the independent Review Team was chaired by Rowena Pelik, International Higher Education Consultant, and formerly a Director in the UK’s Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).
Purpose of the Review:
Known in the sector as QQI’s “CINNTE Reviews,” the institutional quality review process is a statutory external QA requirement for all Higher Education providers in Ireland and is overseen and delivered by QQI. The Review Team’s remit was to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of NCI’s quality assurance and enhancement system and make recommendations for enhancement in specified areas. NCI was delighted to be part of this external QA process.
The Review Team enjoyed a busy and highly productive four-days in the Spencer Dock and Mayor Square campus buildings. Having received NCI’s comprehensive institutional self-evaluation report (ISER) and Institutional Profile (facts and figures) document in advance, the Team then met with NCI Governing Body members, the executive management team, wide-ranging academic and professional staff, students, alumni, and external partners and employers.
The College looks forward to receiving the Team’s full report in February 2025 and engaging with the findings. As we continue to deliver against our 2022-2027 Strategic Plan, we will no doubt benefit from the expertise, experience, and objectivity of the expert CINNTE Review Team.
