Maynooth University and National College of Ireland signed an agreement today to co-deliver and co-supervise students wishing to enrol for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Research Master’s (MLitt or MSc by Research) programme. Students enrolled on these programmes will have access to both MU and NCI and will graduate with a PhD validated by MU, with both MU and NCI named on the parchment.
President of NCI, Gina Quin said: “Building on long-established cooperation between MU and NCI, this agreement reflects National College of Ireland’s continuing commitment to research excellence across all our subject areas in computing, business, psychology, education and early learning, and enhances the excellence of our learning and teaching environment here in the heart of the IFSC and NEIC. It further enables us to pursue our mission to change lives through education.”
President of MU, Dr Philip Nolan said: “Research and scholarship are fundamental to the mission of Maynooth University. Increasing accessibility to PhD and Research Master’s programmes via NCI’s Dublin city campus provides further study options for those wishing to advance human knowledge and understanding and address societal challenges. This agreement enriches academic life at both NCI and MU.”
