National College of Ireland was proud to host Senator Malcolm Byrne to the campus to present a seminar 'Toward a Digital Euro', with a keynote address by ECB Board Member Fabio Panetta.

A panel, including EU Commissioner Mairéad McGuinness; Minister Paschal Donohoe (President of Eurogroup); Lisa Simpson, Director, EMEA Blockchain Lab, Deloitte; Minister Michael McGrath; and ECB Board Member, Philip Lane, responded to questions from an audience well-informed in the areas of banking, blockchain, finance and cybersecurity.

Questioners included Vivian Agbata, CBO of Zenith Chain UAB and current MSc in International Business student at NCI, who raised the issue of blockchain and cybersecurity.

Many attendees joined remotely, as did Minister Paschal Donohoe, today in Tullamore for a conference on the Future of Banking.
