The NCI community is greatly saddened by the tragic death of Josilaine Dos Santos Ribeiro, who was in the final semester of her Higher Diploma in Computing and on track to graduate in Spring 2024.

Josilaine was an international student at NCI. NCI is working with the appropriate local and international authorities to offer assistance and support to her family at this most difficult time.

Specific supports have been offered to Josilaine's classmates and we encourage all students affected by this news to connect with Student Counselling either by email or by dropping into the Student Support Services office in the atrium of NCI Mayor Square.

Similarly for faculty and staff, we ask you to contact the Employee Assistance Programme (1800 995 955) or email eap@vhics.ie to access a free, confidential helpline available to provide 24-hour support to all staff.
