Another Way to Meet the Entry Requirement for Maths

Students who did not achieve a H5 in Leaving Certificate Maths can sit this exam as an alternative way to meet the entry requirement for our data science courses.

Alternative Maths Exam for Data Science 2024 (2)

Data Science Preparatory Course and Maths Exam

Leaving Certificate maths is a challenging subject with some CAO courses requiring a high grade. A minimum of a H5 in Leaving Certificate Maths is required for our Data Science courses

However, there is an alternative way to meet this requirement by completing our Alternative Maths Exam for Data Science.

Students can join a 4-day course run by our School of Computing and then take part in the exam which will be set to a similar standard as the Higher Level Leaving Certificate Maths.

Once they pass our alternative exam, they will meet the maths entry requirement for these courses. Please note the other entry requirements which can be found on the course pages.
