Accommodation Information for International Students

There are many student residences around the city, as well as house and flat shares, homestays and more. We have compiled information on different accommodation options available to you to help you choose which suits you best. We highly recommend booking Student Residences and to apply early and to multiple locations.

In addition to the information on the website, you can join our accommodation webinar during the Pre-Arrival Programme and accommodation workshops during the Welcome Programme. These information sessions are a great way to get to grips with finding accommodation in Dublin. Also, students who have paid their tuition fees will be invited to an exclusive Unibuddy freshers community connect with your peer to team up and search for properties together.

Note: NCI does not own or manage a student residence, nor do we offer an accommodation placement service. That means you are responsible for finding your own accommodation in Dublin.

Plan your accommodation budget

Your college years are often the most exciting of your life, and where you choose to live can greatly impact your time in Dublin. Your biggest monthly expense will be for accommodation, and we estimate you should budget depending on the accommodations you choose:

  • Student residence accommodation: average of €200 - €400 per week (private room), €110 - €200 (shared room)
  • 2-Bed apartment in Dublin: average of €2000 - €3000 per month
  • Private room: average of €600 - €1200 per month
  • Studio: average €1200 - €1800 per month
  • Shared room: average of €500 - €900 per person per month

Dublin and NCI location

Dublin is divided into postal areas from Dublin 1 to Dublin 24. The higher the postal code, the further away you are from the city centre. The odd-number areas are located on the north side, while the even-number postal areas are on the south side. NCI is located in Dublin 1.

Use Google Maps to check the distance from NCI to the accommodation you are considering. Using Google Maps, you can get the travel time to NCI for walking, cycling and public transport options. Another good website is the Transport for Ireland (TFI) Journey Planner for information on public transport options, travel time and fees from A to B.
